Effects of Technology Commercialization Proactiveness on Commercialization Success: The Case of ETRI in Korea

Public technology transfer and commercialization are attracting worldwide attention, but the research on of transferred from government-funded institutes (GRIs) to small- medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is scarce. This study aims identify prioritize factors contributing success technologies GRIs SMEs quantitatively present their importance. We proposed novel concepts SMEs’ GRIs’ proactiveness (SME TCP GRI TCP) as two main factors. conducted hierarchical logistic regression analysis decision tree for 301 SME cases that adopted between 2013 2016 Electronics Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), a representative in Korea. As result, was measured based expenditure (TTE), frequency (TTF) confirmed be most important factor. In particular, rate higher when TTE exceeded 151 M KRW, or TTF three more. addition, varied greatly depending TCP, namely degree type researchers’ support.
